Through the donations of the Western Union Company, its employees, Agents and friends, the Western Union Foundation provides direct grants to NGOs around the world that work to facilitate education as a path to economic opportunity.

Through programs that provide educational assistance, vocational, job and life-skills training, small-business training and financial literacy, the Foundation helps create financial inclusion and economic opportunity for those most in need around the world.

In order to maximize resources and realize a greater social impact in the communities we serve, the Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals.

 

The Western Union Foundation's policy states that organizations receiving three consecutive years of funding will be asked to take a hiatus year.

Helping create economic opportunity in the Philippines

Every year, thousands of young Filipinos leave school, hoping to find employment to help support their families. A grant to the AWECA Foundation is helping provide a mobile trade school for out-of-school youth, where students are taught trade skills, in addition to taking part in activities that help them gain positive life and work values.
